Description:

"THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT OF BUILDING THE NEW SYSTEM OF SPURS LOCATED ON ASHORE OF HEL PENINSULA - KM 0.0 - 12.3"

Investor:

On behalf of the Maritime Office in Gdynia we made a design project of the new system of spurs on part of the edge of the Hel Peninsula, which is in danger of erosion processes - from the Wladyslawowo Port (km 0.0) to the Kuznica (km 12.3).

The proposed system consists of 119 pieces of spurs, 100 m length each, and 16 units of 20 to 95 m length. It is made from piles of wood with diameter of approx. 30 cm and a length of 4 to 10 m. The total number of piles to drive is 31,518. To protect the shore, the project provides the restoration on the beach on discussed section of the coast  - to a minimum width of 40 m (distance from the base of the dunes to the shoreline). The beach with spurs will be a comprehensive form of protection of the sea coast and sand dunes.

The project will be realized in several stages. Each stage has been included in a separate volume of the construction project.

  • The first stage of building the system of spurs comprise the spurs made of concrete (concrete spurs were damaged and were dismantled).
  • The next steps will be carried out in sections with length of approx. 2 km, going toward the north-west (from Kuznica to Wladyslawowo).
